"One To One" Tutor Packs
From September 2009, many schools will be taking part in a new government initiative which values one to one tuition. Study Centre have produced a number of packs specifically for this initiative.The packs have been written by specialists who have an outstanding record in their field. The packs are intended to be a detailed framework which can be followed by the tutor in order to free up time. The government has indicated planning time for each pupil will be two hours, this time can then be spent meeting with the class teacher individualising the packs to suit each pupil's need.
The One to One Tuition Programme is a Government-funded initiative to help children gain more confidence and understanding in English and Maths. Designed for the pupils who would benefit the most, it complements classroom teaching by addressing barriers to learning that are personal and particular to each child. Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 pupils will benefit from the programme.

In response to this Study Centre have written tutorial notes as guidance for teachers. It is expected that each child will receive 10 hours of one to one tuition, therefore ten flexible session plans have been produced for each key stage, additional blank plans have also been included to allow for individual learning needs.
Children are selected for this programme because they are not where they should be for their age or because they are not able to make two sub levels of progress in a year with class teaching. Study Centre believes that our tutorial guidance plans will enable accelerated learning.
The Study Centre "One to One" Tutor Pack A - Maths for Year 6 Pupils includes:
- 10 flexible lesson plans.
- 10 activity sheets which run alongside the plans.
- 10 revision/homework sheets.
- A blank plan which may be photocopied.
The pack covers level 4 objectives, in line with APP, with elements of level 5.
Packs are priced at £12.99 each and are sent via email in PDF format.
